Can I mount the rails to my trailer and then swap the ladder rack between by truck and trailer when I need/want to?

As long as you have a smaller truck bed that the 60" HD crossbars will be large enough for then yes, the Yakima OverHaul HD Adjustable Ladder Rack - 54" Track Mount # Y22AR is an excellent choice for your application!
This kit comes with the hardware needed to mount the ladder rack both to the rails as well as to a standard truck bed so you won't need any additional parts.
