Question:
Good afternoon, I am looking to purchase your 5th wheel rail system number c16100. Couple quick questions. I have an early 2014 Silverado 2500 and wondering if it will fit? Second question is there anything else needed. Last question, what is the weight rating for this kit? Thank you

The Curt item # C16100 will fit but they are universal and you'll have to drill holes in your truck's frame. Instead, I recommend the Curt Custom Fifth Wheel Installation Kit item # C16411-204. These are custom fit and install in preexisting holes in your 2014 Silverado 2500's frame. You will only need to drill into your truck bed to install these. They fit both the 6-3/4' and 8' bed lengths.
I have linked an installation video below that will show you the process for getting the custom kit installed. We don't have a video for the universal kit. I know the custom ones are a bit more expensive but you'll save a lot of time using a custom kit and you will save money on drill bits.
As far as capacity goes. According to the manufacturers the 5th wheel rails have the same weight capacity as the hitch being used so long as they are installed correctly. All this means is that you will want to refer to your truck's actual capacity. I looked online and a 2014 Chevy Silverado 2500 tops out at 17,800 lbs for a 5th wheel hitch. This is the highest rating and its for the diesel truck models so you will want to check your owner's manual to verify what your truck is capable of.
To make towing with a 5th wheel easier I recommend adding the Curt 5th Wheel/Gooseneck Custom Wiring Harness item # C56000. This harness puts a 7-way connector in the bed of your truck and allows you to keep the one on your bumper. This makes hooking up to your 5th wheel trailer easier and more convenient.
