Question:
Have Bronco Heritage 2-door that should be built in October. Have two Electra Townie Path Go! 10D EQ Step-Thru bikes that I will be purchasing a 1Up two bike carrier on. The spare tire on the Bronco will be the 315/70R17 Height: 34.4inch Width: 12.4. I would think I would require an extension. What would be the proper one/length i.e., ~18inch or the eTrailer Hitch Extender for 2inch Hitch Receivers - 18inch Long Item # e48YR? Thanks!

Expert Reply:
Using a 18" Extension # e48YR is most likely going to extend the bike rack much further than what you are needing. If your 2023 Ford Bronco does not come with a receiver we do have the Draw-Tite # DT37GR which is specifically designed longer. This will place the hitch pin center hole 3-1/2" behind the rear bumper which better allows for hitch mounted accessories to clear the rear tire. A Curt Receiver # C76WR which is more like the factory option places the hitch pin hole 3" in on the rear bumper. As we do not carry the bike rack you plan on using you would need to find out from that manufacturer how much clearance their rack gives you from the hitch pin center hole to the uprights for the bike.
We also have an 8" # e88YR or 13-13/16" # e28YR which are most likely the length extension you will need. If you are unsure please let me know if you are getting a factory hitch and what the clearance is on the 1Up bike rack.
