Can Curt Echo Mobile Brake Controller Power from Running Light Circuit

I bought a Curt wireless brake controller and I have a four way plug in my 2018 ford escape. I jumped the running lights to power the unit so I will need to turn on my lights to power the unit I just wanted to know if this an ok setup since I want to avoid having to run cable from my battery

You came up with a really clever way to power up the Curt Echo Mobile part # C51180 but it will not work when you go to apply the trailer brakes as the controller will draw too much for the running light circuit and blow the fuse on your vehicle.
You do need to run the power wire up to the vehicle battery with 10 gauge wire like part # 10-1-1 and a breaker like # 9510.
