Question:

I want to upgrade at least one of my Dexter D44 #7665884 to a higher capacity axle without having to change tires and rims. Current hub face is 86.5” wit 6 bolts. Is this possible? This is on a Grand design Imagine camper 2670MK

We have either a 5,200LB # 8327816-EB or 6,000LB # 8327826-EB axle you will be able to use to replace your current 4,400lb axle. Both these axles have the 86-1/2" hub face spread and include hubs with electric brakes and the 6 on 5-1/2" bolt pattern your wheels and tires require. The brakes are the larger 12" diameter but will fit with the ST225/75R15 tires I see the Grand Design Imagine 2670M comes with. You will need to have 2 new Spring Seats # TRSS300 welded to the axle at the 68-1/2" measurement to match the width for your Grand Design.

I recommend using new U-Bolts # APUBR-8 when mounting the axle as these are often damaged during removal.
