Does The Curt Echo Require The Curt Echo Phone App To Be Running To Work?

Do you need to run the phone app constantly for this to work or will it remember the programming and work without starting the app?

The Curt Echo # C51180 remembers the last brake setting used so you do not have to run the Curt Echo app the whole time you are towing. As the controller is proportional it will increase and decrease braking force based on how hard you are braking.
