Measuring for Bolt Pattern for Replacement Wheels on a Pontoon Boat Trailer
Updated 03/10/2014 | Published 03/08/2014 >
Question:
Was wanting to get new tires and rims and use old ones as spares on 1999 Tracker Trail Star pontoon boat trailer 18 Foot. But after measuring the wheels are 5 on 4 1/4inch cant find these anywhere. Can they still be bought or is there a replacement rim that will work? If not what would be the correct replacement tires?

It is likely that you have 5 on 4-1/2 inch bolt pattern wheels since there is no 5 on 4-1/4. Measuring for bolt pattern on a odd numbered lug hole wheel can be tricky. You pretty much have to remove the wheel from the hub.
You can also measure from the center of one bolt hole to the center of the adjacent bolt hole. If that distance is 2-5/8 inches then you do have 5 on 4-1/2 wheels. I have linked a how-to article that explains how to measure for bolt pattern.
I have linked the wheels only with a 5 on 4-1/2 bolt pattern. They range in size from 8 inch to 15 inch. If you can tell me the tire size I can determine the proper wheel for you.
