First you will need to ensure the lights are flashing blue when you connect the Curt Echo # C51180. If your blue lights are not flashing when installing the Curt Echo with the ignition on, you will then need to check to verify if your 7-way is getting power. A Test Light # PTW2993 can be used to check the blade located at the 1 o'clock position has power(see image). If you do not have power at this terminal you will need to check the fuses in your 2016 Chevrolet Tahoe to verify they are in place and working. Your owners manual will help you see which fuses/relays are for the trailer wiring.
If you have power to the charge line you will next want to check the ground terminal is working. You can use a multimeter to verify the ground terminal has continuity to the chassis ground. If you have good power and ground but no lights coming on the Curt Echo they you have a defective control which will need to be sent in for warranty if it is still under warranty.
