Why Won't My Second Tank Work With The JR Products Automatic Changeover Regulator

Hello I built a food truck I installed 2 tanks of 80 pounds each it worked fine with one tank but wen the first one got empty and I switch to the second one it doesn’t work unless I leve the first tank open

JR Products Automatic Changeover 2-Stage Propane Regulator # 37207-30395 is an automatic changeover so the handle up top that you turn actually only changes the sensor over between the tanks so that you can how full they are. The only way to shut off a tank would be physically turn the valve of the tank closed. If you were having issues with lack of flow after it switches over then you'd want to first close the valve on the second tanks and then remove the hose from the affected tank and wait a minute before connecting it back to the tank.

If the issue persists then there is likely a clog in the inlet for that side of the regulator and you'd want to clean it out with a pipe cleaner brush.
