7-Way Functions Needed to Use Curt Echo Bluetooth Brake Controller

Question:
I have a 2020 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited that was not equipped with the trailer tow package. Ive installed the hitch and have the kit to add the 4 prong and 7 prong plugs. I also have the plug and play harness to connect the 4 prong plug to the tail light harness. Lastly, I have the Curt Echo bluetooth brake controller. In order to make the Curt Echo work, do I only need to hook up 12v to the 7 prong plug black wire and connect the ground to the body or frame?

Helpful Expert Reply:
Yes, the Curt Echo Wireless Brake Controller # C51180 only requires that the 7-Way connector on the tow vehicle have the basic 4-Way connections (left and right stop/turn, running, ground) and the 12V power from the tow vehicle battery. Once you've made those connections you're good to go!
