Does 12 Volt Accessory Circuit of 7-Way Need to Be Active for Curt Echo Mobile Brake Controller

Hello I recently installed the Curt Echo brake controller. It worked for a few days now it doesn’t. I did find a blown 10a fuse for the left turn and stop. I replaced it but the LED is still not lighting up. Should I connect to the trailer? Also the 12v power at the pin connector is not tied in at the main battery under the hood. Is that required? I’m not sure how I was able to get it working before Since the 12v isn’t wired. You think maybe it was getting the 12v source from the trailer battery when I was syncing it? Also, is the 12v required to charge trailer battery or will the running lights also do that? Thanks for any help,

The 12 volt accessory circuit of your 7-way does need to be active for the Curt Echo Mobile # C51180. There must have been a short from a different circuit to this circuit on your 7-way that was allowing it to power on earlier. It's actually really interesting that this happened. I would see if maybe your running light circuit is shorting out to it or something else that could have been on the other day.
You'll want to run 10 gauge wire like part # 10-1-1 (sold by foot) through a breaker like # 9510 to the positive post of your battery then to the 1:00 pin of your 7-way.
