How Does the Hughes Autoformers Safe View Smart Power Inlet 50 Amp Protect the RV
Updated 05/24/2023 | Published 05/22/2023 >
Question:
how this item function? By the time I connect the shorepower to this inlet, ive already established a connection, and whatever connected downstream would have already been fried. If this detects a bad cabling, does it disconnect the power to the internal units?

The Hughes Autoformers Safe View Smart Power Inlet part # HU27VR is a replacement power inlet for your trailer. I have attached for you below the steps you'll need to take for the power inlet to be effective against protecting your trailer.
Turn off the main breakers on your RV and at the shore power source
Plug in your shore power cable, connecting your RV to the camps outlet
Turn on the main breaker at the shore power pedestal, then check the LEDs on your inlet
If all indicator lights are green and the inlet has a white halo, its safe to turn on your RVs main breaker
