How to Stop Leg From Spinning Installing Replacement Foot Pad for Lippert Hydraulic Ground Control

Updated 10/04/2025 | Published 05/21/2023

Question:

I have a 2014 Winnebago Tour with a front jack foot that is bent. I purchased a replacement foot plate from you. My problem is I cant seem to get the bent foot plate off as the jack post simply spins. Whats the best way to remove the original foot plate?

Yes, you'd need to hold the inner jack leg while you remove the bolt from the bottom when replacing the Replacement Foot Pad for Lippert Hydraulic Ground Control Leveling System part # LC324269. In order to hold the inner jack leg, I recommend some sort of strap wrench like one you would use on an automotive oil filter. I don't recommend using pliers of any sort as you could damage the leg further.

That is a great idea but have tried several times, have heated the bolt, used a 3/4 impack and still the bolt won't move. I have run out of ideas, short of cutting the bolt off drill it out and rethread the hole. Any ideas that anyone can think of.

@Dennis Even hitting it with some lubricant like PB Blaster at this point probably won't do too much in all honestly. You can try using a standard ratchet and a long prybar for more leverage, but I'm not even sure if that will do anything. I think your best bet would be to drill out the bolt unfortunately.
