Question:

Just inherited an RV with a 5th Wheel hitch. Wondering if the convertaball Item # CAB-C5GX1216 would be appropriate to use as a gooseneck adapter for my 2018 Chevrolet Silverado 1/2 ton Crew Cab with a 59 bed. Have yet to install gooseneck ball until after I find out. Thank you!

I do have an option for you but it's not likely that the Convert-A-Ball Cushioned 5th-Wheel-to-Gooseneck Adapter part # CAB-C5GX1216 will provide enough turning clearance. I'm sure you are like most people and don't want to take up bed space while not towing but unfortunately with such a short bed, we really don't have any options for this.

Instead, I recommend the Demco Autoslide 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch part # DM8550040 which not only gives you the turning clearance you need but also slides back automatically so there's no getting in and out of the cab each time which you need to make a tight turn. The hitch also unlike any other sliding fifth wheel provides enough travel for a super short (5-1/2' Bed). In order to use this hitch on a 2018 Chevy Silverado 1500 you'll need the Demco Premier Series Above-Bed Base Rails part # DM8552027-71.
