can i combine flow through sensors on the and cap on my tow vehicle and are steel valve stems required on the cap type sensors?

Yes, you can mix and match standard sensors with flow-through sensors # TST-507-FT-S2 with the TST TPMS # TST-507-RV-6-C monitor. Flow-through sensors tend to be a bit heavier and can cause rubber valve stems to fail over time so it's recommended to use steel, chrome, or nickel valve stems with these types of sensors.
