I have linked a picture below that shows the steps to install the thread collar of the Ranch Hitch Universal 5th-Wheel-to-Gooseneck Coupler Adapter item # AM3100. You will want to follow them then thread the adapter all the way to the top.

I recommend using the Slide Hammer item # AM3103 to make installing the Ranch Hitch Adapter. It's not required for installation but the slide hammer makes the process quicker because not only does it go on easier but helps to seat the collar properly. The slide hammer is used to pull the threaded collar over the split collar halves that surround the king pin on the trailer.
