Is It Normal For A Converter Fan To Not Run Constantly While The Converter Has Power
Updated 05/03/2023 | Published 05/01/2023 >
Question:
I know this model has a variable speed fan. Does that include not running at all? After install, when I turn on the break for the converter I see the fan do what looks like a single spin and then stop. I assume this is normal when there is little to no load, or should fan at least be running on low at all times?

The little jolt of the Progressive Dynamics PD9200 Series Battery Converter Charger # PD9260C fan is totally normal when the unit receives power. The fan will power on and off intermittently as needed to cool the converter. If you notice that the converter is getting hot and the fan isn't kicking on then you would have an issue and be looking at replacement.
