Video Transcript for An In-Depth Look at the Power Grip Replacement RV Power Cord Plug w/ Handle

Today we're gonna be taking a look at the Power Grip heavy-duty replacement RV power cord plug. This 30-amp male plug replaces an older, damaged connector on your RV's power cord. It's gonna feature the built-in handle. It makes unplugging the connector effortless. The round ground terminal is even compatible with older-style receptacles. It's bright yellow in color so it's always gonna be highly visible.

It's made from a durable, plastic construction. Replacing the plug on your power cord is a simple process. You'll need to remove the appropriate screws from the housing to gain access to the connection points, and then what you'll do is you'll take the wires from your power cord, connect them or attach them to the correct terminals located inside the plug, and then put it back together. Down here you're gonna have screws for the strain relief bracket, so your last step will be to tighten that. That's really all there is to it. That's gonna do it for today's look at the Power Grip heavy-duty replacement RV power cord plug.

  • Is 30 Amp Male RV Power Cord Plug Watertight
Hello Scott, The 30 amp male Power Grip Replacement RV Power Cord Plug # CAM55245 is rated for outdoor use, but is not watertight. That's actually going to be true of each of these plugs though, as there just isn't a way to ensure no water gets into them because they screw together, so there's always going to be a possibility for water to get in. So while the # CAM55245 will be perfectly fine in the rain, it just won't be watertight.

  • Will the Power Grip Replacement RV Power Cord Plug CAM55245 Fit Inside a Storage Receptacle
The Power Grip Replacement RV Power Cord Plug part # CAM55245 is rather large so most likely it will not fit into your storage receptacle. However we do have a smaller version of this, the Camco Mini Power Grip Replacement RV Power Cord Plug part # CAM55283 which should fit inside your storage receptacle. I have attached a dimensional photo of the Camco Mini Power Grip Replacement RV Power Cord Plug for you.

  • Replacement RV Power Cord Plug to Fit Inside Casing of EMS-PT30X Power Monitor
The Camco Power Grip Replacement RV Power Cord Plug with Handle # CAM55245 is 8.25" long, 5" wide and 3" tall and I wasn't able to find out how much space there is inside your EMS-PT30X Power Monitor, but from looking at it you might be right. Instead of the # CAM55245 you may want to use the # CAM55283 which is only 2.3" tall and 2.75" long and should fit inside of the space on your EMS-PT30X without an issue. If you need a smaller replacement plug, let me know how small you need it...

  • 50 Amp RV Power Cord Plug that Could Fit Through 3-1/2 inch Diameter Hole
The Power Grip Replacement RV Power Cord Plug w/ Handle # CAM55245 is small enough to fit through a 3-1/2 inch diameter hatch cover.

  • Recommended Power Plugs for 30 Amp Power Cable Extension Cord
The Mighty Cord RV Power Cord Adapter Plug - 30 Amp Male to 30 Amp Female - Detachable # A10-3030DAVP does not have the same ends as you mentioned. It has 3 blades versus 2 blades and a pin. For your application you will need to change the end of one of the cables as you stated. For this I recommend the Power Grip Replacement RV Power Cord Plug w/ Handle - 30 Amps - Male # CAM55245 or the Power Grip Replacement RV Power Cord Adapter Receptacle w/ Handle - 30 Amps - Female # CAM55343....

  • Is There Any Electrical Current At Power Cord Plug On Jayco Motorhome When Unplugged
The best way to make sure you do not have any current at the plug or on the line is to find the breaker box on your RV and make sure you cut the power to the circuits by flipping the main off. There shouldn't be any current back feeding to the wires on the plug you want to replace but you can use a voltmeter to make sure. The Power Grip Replacement RV Power Cord Plug w/ Handle, part # CAM55245 features a handle that makes it easy to plug and unplug the cord from the receptacles when needed.
