Question:

I will be purchasing brake controller Prodigy P2 #90885 in a GMC 2023 1500 truck. I will need the correct adapter that go’s from controller to the under dash female connecter of the wiring harness leading to the round 7 wire male plug. I installed an older Prodigy 15 years ago and I had to have if my memory is correct this same adapter to connect the two. I maybe wrong, However, this is why I deal with E- Trailer.

I have a solution for you but to install an older Prodigy P2 item # 90885 in your 2023 GMC Sierra 1500 you will need item # 3064-P. The issue is that Tekonsha's parent company is being bought out so this part is currently unavailable do to orders not being able to be fulfilled (04/12/2023).

A better option and what most of the new trucks are using is the Curt Echo In-Line Wireless Brake Controller item # C79DR. This brake controller plugs in beneath your truck in the wiring the leads to your 7-way connector. It completely removes the bulky brake controller installed inside your cab.

Like the Prodigy P2 the Echo is also a proportional brake controller that slows or stops your trailer when your Sierra decelerates. It uses Bluetooth to communicate with your phone so you will never have to worry about losing signal. If your phone dies it automatically uses the default settings you program in.

If you like the reassurance of a manual override button you will want the Manual Override Button for Curt Echo Brake Controller item # C83HR. You can mount it wherever you want it inside your vehicle.
