Question:
Hi there, We are looking at doing a suspension upgrade/replace on our 2017 Coachman Chapparal 360IBL with 7000lb dexter axles. I am looking to replace the ezflex, the shackles with a new wet bolt kit, and the springs on both axles. We put about 10,000 miles a year on the fifth wheel and want to do as much issue prevention as possible. What do you recommend? We also have a youtube channel https://www.youtube.com/@OnTheMewve/featured and would like to do an install video for these components. Thanks for your help.

The best available cushioned equalizers are the MORryde Rubber Equalizers for Tandem Axle Trailers, part # MR87ZR if you have a 33" wheelbase or part # MR27ZR if you have a 35" wheelbase. The reason that these are the best is that they provide the most amount of travel, 3". The travel is basically how much the rubber inside compresses and the more the rubber does compress, the better ride you'll get since the rubber absorbs road shock. The only other thing I recommend is a set of wet bolts and heavy duty shackles, the MORryde Suspension Upgrade Kit for Tandem Axle Trailers part # MR46ZR which also comes with bronze bushings.
In order to find the correct replacement leaf springs, you first need to start by noting the type whether that be slipper or double eye. Then, you'll need to measure their unloaded length via jacking up the trailer. If the springs are worn they will measure longer than their replacement. Please note, the number of leaves does not really denote capacity as leaves have different thicknesses. Once you have all this info you can choose the correct replacement from the list below. The springs should be replaced in pairs as well. The 4-Leaf Double-Eye Spring for 3,500-lb Trailer Axles part # e54SR is a pretty common replacement measuring 25-1/8".
Unfortunately, we have no way to look up leaf springs for any one particular trailer.
