Are There any Steps Dealing with Yellow Sealant Installing Curt Hitch 2023 Subaru Crosstrek

Question:

I’m getting ready to install this hitch on my 2023 Crosstrek and have a concern. There is frame adhesive right next to both of the forward access holes see picture and I’m curious if that will affect the spacer placement and overall alignment of the hitch once installed. If so, what would be the best way to remove it?

If you check out the install video I attached for the Curt hitch part # C13382 around the 6 minute mark you can see that when we installed this hitch we didn't do anything special with that sealant you mentioned. I would just ignore it and go about the install.
