Is It Okay for Reese Pro Weight Distribution System 49903 To Have Different Spring Bars
Published 04/04/2023 >
Question:
I have a Pro Series #49903 that came with a trailer I bought. One spring bar is bent approximately 1 so both are not the same so there is different chain links on both sides. Does this affect towing? 2018 F150 5 1/2 ft. Bed.

I can't exactly recommend using a weight distribution system with different spring bars because if the system is not providing an even amount of pressure on both sides, it could very well lead to issues like sway, porpoising, etc. Unfortunately, this system is discontinued and replacement parts like the spring bars are no longer available. Therefore, the only options we'd be able to offer is a new system, the Curt MV Weight Distribution System part # C17052 which has the same 1,000 lb capacity.
