How do you make these clamps fit into the cargo rail?

IF you're finding that the clamps # EX2244-0204 are too small and don't fit the bed rails on your vehicle, you can trim the plastic to get the clamp to fit.

I've attached a snippet from the installation instructions showing Extang giving the green light on these modifications.
