Need New Hubs and Bearings for 1956 12-Foot Travel Trailer With Bearings 14130 and 1258C

I am wanting to replace hubs and bearings, using a 15inch -5 hole wheel. Its an old 1956 12 ft travel trailer weighing about 1400lbs. I dont have spindle measurements but I have inner and outer bearing numbers to help. Inner- Timken 14130 outer- ABC 1258C Can you recommend the hub kit assembly based on this information?

Usually original bearing numbers are the best way to find replacements (thank you for providing that information) but in this case the age of the trailer may be why there is no cross reference for the outer bearing number and why the original bearing inner diameter cannot be matched exactly to what is currently available. Given the age of the trailer it is certainly possible that axles, spindles or both may have been changed out during the last 50+ years.

I was able to find some information on the Timken 14130 inner bearing you referenced. This bearing has an inner diameter of 1.3125 inches. The available bearing with the nearest inner diameter to this is part # 2585 from Redline. This bearing has an inner diameter 1.313 inches and fits race # 2520.

I cannot find any information about the outer bearing you referenced, 1258C.

Given this circumstance, the best method for finding replacement hub assemblies (with bearings, races, seals) is to take precise measurements of your trailer spindles. You will need to use a digital caliper to measure the points on the spindle where the grease seal and inner and outer bearings ride. The linked photo illustrates these points on the spindle.

While you have your hubs off it is a good idea to inspect the spindles for wear or damage. If you do find your spindles need to be replaced you can use the link provided to find replacements; the filters in the left-hand margin will allow you to narrow the product results to those appropriate for your application. 1/4 inch larger than the inner diameter of the #L44649 is 1.31 and would match the bearing number #2585. This is normally used in 9,000 lb trailer axles.
