Troubleshooting Roadmaster Tow Dolly Back and Forth Movement While Towing

Question:

I bought one of these car dollys a while back, finally got things going but I have a question? I know the dolly rotates around corners Ne mine works as it should but while I was watching it I noticed that it rocks back and forth,. I have the pin installed that lets the deck drop down to load but was wondering about the top plate on the frame rocking a little on the frame?

There might be some movement while towing your vehicle with the Roadmaster Tow Dolly # RM-2050-1 but if it is swaying or fishtailing then there are a few things Roadmaster lists as possible causes:

- Towing a vehicle backwards
- Excessive weight in the rear of the towed vehicle
- Insufficient tire pressure
- Damaged rims or wheel bearings
- Excessive speeds
- Unlocked steering wheel
- Be sure towed vehicle wheels are straight and square with tow dolly

If you check all of this and you're still experiencing some sway or fishtailing let me know and I'll help you troubleshoot further.
