Does Curt In-Line Echo Brake Controller Require Brake Output Circuit of Vehicle to be Active
Published 03/15/2023 >
Question:
Is brake output from the vehicle to the 7-way socket required for this brake controller? It does not appear necessary for C51180, but this product C79DR does not specify either way. Thanks!

Expert Reply:
On the vehicle side of the trailer wiring the brake output circuit is not required to be active to use the Curt In-Line Echo part # C79DR. This controller creates this circuit essentially right behind the 7-way which is why it's not needed.
