Question:
Recently I took my GMC 2010 Acadia to the Texas dealership where I purchased the vehicle in Nov. 2009 checking to see if I could get a towing package put on my vehicle. I was told no. The frame on my vehicle would not support a towing package. How are you able to install a towing hitch on a 2010 Acadia without damaging the frame? I really want a hitch on my car, but I do not want to damage the frame in anyway as its the only vehicle I have. Thanks!

That's ludicrous, you can absolutely install a trailer hitch on a 2010 GMC Acadia without damaging the frame. The etrailer Trailer Hitch Receiver part # e98863 is what I recommend, it offers a bolt-on fit without any drilling or welding. It's covered under a lifetime warranty as well. It installs in the same manor as the factory hitch that would have come on the vehicle if equipped with the factory tow package from the factory. There isn't any sort of extra bracing on models with the factory tow package or anything like that either. The only difference between having a factory tow package and adding all the parts yourself after the fact is that you might not be able to achieve the factory tow package rating since there are usually some other features in the package that help assist with a higher capacity such as as a transmission cooler, upgraded oil cooler etc.
In order to complete your towing setup you'll also need the T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness part # 118451 and Curt Towing Starter Kit part # C45534.
