Question:
I have a 1974 Apache Royal trailer that I’m getting ready to sell. However, it needs tires. The current tires are Goodyear 20x8x10, 6 ply Rated. I believe they are the original tires, since the trailer has not been used since 1983 and was only used 6 times between 1980 and 1983. Before that the previous owner said it was not used very often. The current rims have 4 lug holes and are evenly spaced about 3” on center. I’m having difficulty finding anyone in my area that can mount tires on 10” Rims, so I would be interested in tires already mounted on new rims. I would need a pair. I see you have several tires available and some with rims. What to you have that is suitable for my Apache Royal Solid State Pop Top Trailer?

We may have something for your Apache Royal trailer, but it depends on your wheel bolt pattern and if you have the proper amount of space to fit the tire. The closest tire available to a 20x8x10 is a 205/65-10 tire, which measures 20-1/2" tall and 8.3" wide; you're likely fine but want to measure to ensure you have at least 3" of clearance from the top of the tire to your fender and at least 1" of clearance between the inside of the tire and your trailer's frame rail.
Then for the wheel bolt pattern you may have a 4 on 4" bolt pattern but you need a different measurement than what you gave. Just measure from the center of one bolt hole directly across the center of the wheel to the other bolt hole. That should measure 4" and if so, you have a 4 on 4" bolt pattern (you can refer to the linked help article below). You then need to know the GVWR of your trailer to get the correct load rating, which I was unable to verify due to the age of the trailer. If all those things add up you can use one of the two following:
- 1,100 lb Per Tire Capacity: Kenda 205/65-10 Bias Trailer Tire with 10" White Wheel - Load Range C # AM3H370
- 1,320 lb Per Tire Capacity: Kenda 205/65-10 Bias Trailer Tire with 10" White Wheel - Load Range D # AM3H410
