Does it Make Sense to Install 2 inch Ball on Flint Hill Goods Dolly

If you really wanted to you could remove the 1-7/8 inch ball of the Flint Hill Goods Trailer Dolly part # FHG24ZR and install a different ball size...BUT it won't gain you anything by doing so and would only prevent you from using it with a trailer that has a coupler size of 1-7/8 inch so I would not recommend it. When using a dolly it really only matters that the ball is either the correct size for the coupler or smaller. Due to how slow you would be moving and how light dollies are it's not important for the latch of the coupler to secure to it.

Another way to look at it is if you were in a situation where the latch of the coupler was needed to hold on to the ball you would be in a situation where you and the dolly wouldn't be effective at all since it would take the dolly with it if it was going nose up and rolling away.
