Question:
Please help. Im connecting a 4 pin flat connector to the rear lights to connect a utility trailer to to the back of my small rv. I have white to white, brown to brown. Green to green and yellow to red. Everything works great but the right side passenger side turn signal. Both trailer lights flash when I signal to go right. If I switch the wires the same happens on the left. Can ypu tell me where I went wrong?

I can't specifically tell you where you went wrong, just give an educated guess, but it is highly likely you have a bad ground. That said, the first thing I'd do, just to be safe, is use Circuit Tester # PTW2979 to ensure you have the proper wires connected, as going by color is often not reliable. But generally when both turn signals flash there is a bad ground on the trailer.
You'll want to check the ground area for any paint, corrosion, or other build up and ensure the ground is attached to bare metal. Also, each component should have its own ground, which reduces the risk of a ground issue on one component impacting the whole wiring system.
