UWS recommends to use U-bolts to secure the A-Frame Trailer Toolbox # UWS01039 to the front of the trailer. As there are several different frame sizes on trailers you will want to select the correct size U-bolts to fit your frame. Be sure to account for any wiring, or lines which may need to be relocated so they are not damaged in the U-bolts. The bolts, washers and nuts can be sourced at a local hardware store.

Do you have to drill the bottom of the box out to use the u-bolts or is there accommodation on the bottom via some type of bracket to attach? I hate the idea of having to drill the bottom of a brand new $600 box and introduce water intrusion from wheel upspray.

@Levi There are no holes or other attachment method on the bottom of the box. As for your concerns with water intrusion you are only going to drill holes large enough for the shank of the u-bolt to pass through and once hardware is attached this should seal the holes from any water entering from spray. You can also add some silicone or waterproofing to the areas around the hole to further protect from moisture getting in.
