Parts Needed To Flat Tow a 2020 GMC 2500HD Behind a Class A RV Motorhome

Question:

can you advise on what all I would need to flat tow my 2020 GMC 2500HD behind my class A coach? I would need everything. thanks

First you will need the Roadmaster Direct-Connect Base Plate Kit # RM86FR for the front of your 2020 GMC Sierra 2500HD. This will allow you to connect your Sierra to your class A coach using the Roadmaster BlackHawk 2 All Terrain, Non-Binding Tow Bar # RM-422. You may need a High-Low adapter like the 4" # RM-048-4 to keep the tow bars within 3" of level from vehicle to vehicle. The base plate has a height of 20-1/4" when installed on a truck with 275/65R20.

The RoadMaster BlackHawk 2 All Terrain Combo Towing Kit # RM-9243-3 will provide you with a cover, storage bag, lube, safety cables, and wiring needed to connect the tail lights on your Sierra to operate off your motorhome. You will also need a Charge Line Kit # RM-156-25 to maintain the power lost on the battery from the supplemental braking system. If you have a gas engine you will need the Battery Disconnect # RM-766. For a diesel engine you will need the Battery Disconnect # RM93MR for each battery. This will make it easier than having to disconnect and reconnect your battery cables when you are towing.

If your Class A motorhome has air brakes you will want the Demco Air Force One Supplemental Braking System # DM26VR. Otherwise the Demco Stay-IN-Play DUO Supplemental Braking System # DM86VR is the system you will want. The Demco systems are in my opinion the best ones for flat towing. The main units mount under your hood so you will not lose space in your cab.
