Question:

I have a 2019 Silverado. I bought a ac Delco part 84488395 which is the square trailer brake controller that goes in the dash about by your right knee. I took it to a dealer who installed it, but it needs to be programmed. They said I should have gotten a programming code with it, but I didn’t. How can I get that code? Shouldn’t they be able to do that? If not, how can I get it?

I unfortunately cannot help you with any codes for programming your ECU on a 2019 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 as all of the items we carry do not require reprogramming an ECU. The Redarc Tow-Pro Elite Brake Controller # RED63RR can be installed on your Silverado with just a Pigtail # 3064-P. It has a small control knob and can be mounted in virtually any location on your dash you prefer provide you have access behind the dash.

I do find it strange that a Chevrolet Dealer cannot reprogram the ECU for a part they most likely sell at their parts department desk. You can also reach out to the seller you acquired it to see if they have any additional information on the programming for that part.
