We can get your Jayco Jay Feather X17Z with a 4,175 lb GVWR set up with a weight distribution hitch, and what you're looking for is value, which is definitely smart. For that the best option is definitely a round bar set up from Fastway, with the correctly rated option for your Jayco being the following:
- Fastway e2 Weight Distribution w/ 2-Point Sway Control # FA94-00-0800
The Fastway is easily the best value among weight distribution hitches, with a unique combination of relative cost-effectiveness and high quality. As you can see by the hundreds of reviews on the product page, our customers who have used it have given it a nearly 5-star rating. It has very good sway control, created by friction at two points on the brackets, and is also easier to set up than other systems, particularly those that use chains.
It comes with a shank but you will need a hitch ball as well, with the correct one depending on your trailer's coupler:
- 2" Hitch Ball # A-90
or
- 2-5/16" Hitch Ball # C40030
To make installing the hitch ball much easier it is highly recommended you use Thin Walled Socket # ALL643216.
