Question:

My 1986 avion travel trailer with a parallax 6345 has a bulb fuse system. The replacement is like automotive fuses no fuses included or notice I might have a problem. The other problem is that wire gauge on my system is higher than what it looks like I am replacing. My wires on both the AC and DC side are the same. The wires on the unit I got are smaller on the AC side. Did I order the wrong one? I want to do this myself and need some additional guidance. Can you help me?

The Replacement Converter # PD4645V for your Parallax 6345 will not include fuses for the new DC power board. They do not include fuses as different circuits will require a different size fuse depending on its application. You will need to source the correct size fuses to replace your tube style fuses. We have the Fuse Kit # PT52FR which contains 10 of each size fuse from 5-30amps in 5 amp increments.

The wiring supplied with the Converter is sufficient to withstand the power needs for the converter. Your older converter may have required a larger diameter AC wire as the converter may not have been as efficient and required more power to get the same amount of output. I have linked the installation instructions below. Be sure to follow the steps in the section specifically for the Parallax 6345 replacement.
