For a 2023 Toyota Highlander I personally prefer the Draw-Tite Max-Frame Trailer Hitch Receiver # DT84MR since it's the most hidden option with the crossmember behind the rear fascia. If you have an XSE model though you'll need to go with the etrailer Trailer Hitch Receiver # e75ZR instead.

The # e75ZR has a matte black powder coating that's better for hiding scratches than the # DT84MR, but I personally don't like how the safety chain loops look. If your spare tire is over 18" this hitch unfortunately block it from sitting in the mount so you would potentially be looking at buying a smaller spare if this is the case.

For the wiring I recommend the T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness with 4-Pole Flat Trailer Connector # TK99FR. This wiring harness has plug-in connectors to make installation fast and easy since you won't have to cut and splice into any wiring.
