Can Trailer Ramp Spring 362SA8HD Help Lift Rear Door with Patio Rail of Toy Hauler

Published 12/07/2022

Question:

WE HAVE A TOY HAULER THAT HAS A LIPPERT PATIO RAIL SYSTEM ATTACHED TO THE DOOR. IT MAKES THE RAMP DOOR HEAVY AND LOWERING THE DOOR TAKES A LITTLE MUSCLE. WILL THIS: Conventional Ramp Door Spring for 8foot Wide Enclosed Trailer - Dual Spring - 230-lb Capacity Item # 362SA8HD HELP WITH LOWERING AND RAISING THIS DOOR. IS THERE AN INSTALLATION MANUAL THAT I COULD LOOK AT? THE PICTURES INCLUDED WITH THE SPECS ON THIS PART ON YOUR WEBSITE ARE OF A REGULAR GARAGE DOOR.

Yes, the Conventional Ramp Door Spring part # 362SA8HD that you referenced will help make the ramp door feel a lot lighter than it currently is. When wound properly it could lift up to 230 lbs. The install of this can be somewhat dangerous since it's a torsion spring setup that requires quite a bit of torque which is why we don't include instructions and have to recommend that you find a garage door installer with experience winding these types of springs to install it.
