Recommended Firestone Air Bag Helper Springs and Compressor System For a 2019 Ford F-150

Updated 12/05/2022 | Published 12/03/2022

Question:

I have a 2019 F-150 SuperCrew 3.5 EB, FX4 that I tow a 6,500 pound trailer 60 of the time. I have heard that the F2582 5,000 pound air bag is overkill for the F-150. That it makes the unloaded F-150 ride harsh. He recommended instead the F2320 3,000 pound air bag. Your web site recommends the 5,000. What considerations and thoughts do you recommend. Thank you

You will need to use the Firestone Ride-Rite Air Helper Springs # F2582 on your 2019 Ford F-150. The Firestone Sport-Rite Air Helper Springs # F2320 have not been a fit for an F-150 since the 2004 Heritage model. As far as the springs being overkill that seems ridiculous as they are adjustable in air pressure allowing you to dial in your ride quality and when unloaded you lower the pressure to 5psi which makes them barely noticeable.

I recommend using the Air Lift WirelessAIR Compressor System # AL74000EZ to control the air pressure in the air springs. This compressor uses a smart manifold which monitors the air pressure in each spring while you drive and will automatically make adjustments if the pressure in either bag changes by more than 3psi. You are able to control and monitor the air pressure from the included wireless remote or your smartphone using the Air Lift app. This means no additional air lines running into your cab or gauges mounted to your dash.
