Question:

I have a 2019 2500 short bed chevrolet. My camper is a 2021 grand design reflection 150 series. Which one of the 3 reese fifth wheel to gooseneck adapter will best serve my purpose? I just want to make sure I dont need an offset, etc or any other items and to know which adapter will best suit me. thanks

Thanks for the picture and the extra information. I just heard back from my rep at Lippert and it looks like your Grand Design Reflection has a Turning Point pin box with a 16,000 lbs capacity.

To replace it with a goosebox you will want the Gen-Y Hitch Shock Absorbing 5th Wheel to Gooseneck Pin Box item # GY48GR. This is the only option to replace a Turning Point Pin Box. You will want to verify yours isn't welded on. Some of them are and if yours is you can't replace it.

You will also need the Safety Chain with 2 Hooks for Gen-Y 5th Wheel to Gooseneck Pin Box item # GY49GR. The gooseboxes do not include the required safety chains.

I understand you're not a fan of your 5th wheel hitch, but a goosebox will not provide any additional clearance for short bed trucks above what the factory pin box offers. With the Goose Box installed, you will likely still have trouble making tight turns with your short bed Silverado unless you offset it.

It looks like your A16 Slider is mounted on industry standard rails you can use the Curt Above-Bed Gooseneck Trailer Hitch for Fifth Wheel Rails item # 16055. This plate has a 25,000 lbs capacity and will push the connection point back 3".

You will want to use the Fifth Wheel Rail Sound Dampeners item # 16900 when you connect the adapter. It will help soften that metal on metal vibration.
