Will Curt Echo Mobile Brake Controller Work While App Isn't Running

Question:
I sure appreciate any and all help. I was wondering, if the truck is hooked up with a 7pin connection wont that also make the trailer brake work automatically?

The Curt Echo Wireless Trailer Brake Controller part # C51180 installs on the vehicle into the seven way trailer connector. The trailer plug then connects to the brake controller which is attached to the vehicle. Then, you'll need to set everything up in the app. There are settings and controls to can play with in the app but you don't have to have the app up and running for the brakes to work. If your phone dies for example, the brakes will still apply using all of your last saved settings.
If this was not the info you were looking for please just let me know and I'd be glad to clarify.
