Will the Bearing Buddy Bearing Protectors Damage the Spindle if Overfilled
Published 11/08/2022 >
Question:
I have a 2010 pwc loadrite trailer with no zerk fitting on the spindle. I ordered the marine bearing buddies for it but was told by Loadrite they do not recommend them as to much pressure can seize up the spring axle. Is this true? I do not want to damage my axle. I thought the blue ring on the buddie lets you know to stop putting in more grease to prevent and blown seals or damage to the axle. Please advise. thanks

In regards to the Bearing Buddy Bearing Protectors like part # BB1781, they do indeed have built-in pressure relief so if you overfill them, they will expel the excess grease which prevents damage. The worst thing that could happen if you overfill them would be blowing out the grease seal. I am not aware of any other damage that could occur but I also cannot recommend going against the manufactures recommendations. I have attached our full list of bearing protections below as well.
