I have a 2017 chevy Silverado 1500 with the short bed 5’ 9” is the hole located the same location as the standard bed. I understand long before is different but wanted to double check on the shorter short bed before I drill a hole. It’s the BandW hitch Thank you

Yes, when installing the B and W Turnoverball gooseneck hitch part t# BWGNRK1057 in the bed of your 2017 Chevy Silverado 1500 you'd use the same dimension for where the hitch ball gets drilled as the 6-1/2 foot bed which is 44-1/8 inches from the rear of the truck bed edge.
