Troubleshooting A Curt Echo Brake Controller That's Over Breaking At Low Speeds
Published 10/28/2022 >
Question:
Ive read previous postings on this and tried the solution. I have d and reinstalled the app, but the data is still there. I have even tried setting up a new profile and low settings. I own a 2022 Ram 1500. The original settings of 50 with a 3 worked fine for a long time. Can a faulty accelerometer cause this? Thanks,

Since you've already looked at resetting everything and checking the 7-way pins we can skip past those steps. I wouldn't rush to thinking there's an issue with your truck just yet but, yes if it thought you were slamming on the brakes when you were simply tapping them that could be an issue.
I've researched a bit into this and found this is a super common issue and one thing that a lot of people are doing is leaving the Echo # C51180 plugged in all the time. This doesn't allow for it to fully shut down and recalibrate which can cause the issues you've been experiencing.
Unplug your Echo from the vehicle for a bit, then plug it in and give it a few minutes to calibrate before hooking your trailer's 7-way into it. When you plug the Echo into your truck the blue light should be blinking to display that it's syncing up.
If this doesn't solve your issue then let me know and we can keep troubleshooting further.
