Question:
I have a 2016 gmc Denali 3500 HD 4x4 duramax. I have installed a custom bed which is heavier than the normal dually factory bed and also heavier than your mass produced flat bed which also has an additional 60 gallon fuel capacity. I pull a fifth wheel travel trailer with empty weight at 17,000#. I estimate loaded weight at 19,000. We pull on an average of 5-6 times per year and some of the trips are 950 to 1500 mile. What air bags and compressor do you recommend? Will the 5,000# and the 7500# air bags both give a good ride when using the truck only? Do you need a reserve tank if I want to set it up to air up tires?

I recommend installing the Air Lift LoadLifter 5000 Ultimate Air Springs # AL88338 for your 2016 GMC Sierra 3500 Denali. These air springs include internal jounce bumpers which help to absorb bounce when loaded and will also absorb road shock in the suspension when unloaded. As the air springs eliminate the factory jounce bumper these air springs utilize a set inside the springs. Thee springs are rated for 5,000lbs of capacity which is plenty for your 19,000lb 5th wheel as they generally carry 20%(3,800lbs)-25%(4,750lbs) of the trailer weight as tongue weight.
Using a compressor system like the Air Lift # AL27DQ with its 2 gallon auxiliary tank will greatly decrease the amount of time it takes to fill your tires. The air tank will continue to fill up as you move from tire to tire.
