Curt Trailer Wiring Harness Not Working W/ A 2020 Lexus RX 350 Without OEM Towing Package

Howdy. The Draw-Tite 76905 trailer hitch and the Kuat Piston bike rack were recently installed on my 2020 RX 350 without the OEM towing package. I love the entire setup. I also installed the Curt 56083 wiring harness to power the lights in the bike rack, which is the reason I am writing to you because dissappointingly no power comes thru. The Curt instructions stated that dealer programming may be needed, a route I prefer not to take. Your blog says that the OEM towing package is required. Is there a workaround without the OEM towing package? Appreciate your help. Thank you very much for you advice.

I went ahead and did some investigating and it turns out that the reason your Curt T-Connector Vehicle Wiring Harness for Factory Tow Package # 56083 is not working is due to the fact that you do not have the factory towing package.
Instead, you're going to want to use the Curt T-Connector Vehicle Wiring Harness with 4-Pole Flat Trailer Connector # C56217, as # 56083 was designed to be used with vehicles that have the factory towing package.
This would be the workaround to taking your vehicle to the dealer to get your computer flashed.
