Is the Hydrastar Electric Over Hydraulic Adapter Module Needed W/ A 2022 GMC 3500HD Dually?

Question:

We just bought a new 5th wheel that has hydraulic brakes. We have not picked it up yet but from reading in forums we may have issues with the truck recognizing the trailer brakes many noted using this adapter to get your trailer brakes to work. I’d prefer to have it on hand when we go to pick up the unit if we do have a problem. Don’t want to drive home 5-1/2 hrs pulling the 5th wheel with no brakes?? is this what we would need?

The Hydrastar Electric Over Hydraulic Actuator Adapter Module for Ford and Chevy Brake Controllers # HBA-CAM is not needed for your integrated TBC on your 2022 GMC Sierra 3500HD Dually.

This adapter was only needed for the 2018 model year, so it should work just fine without it according to Hydrastar.
