Can Strainer on Empire Faucets RV Kitchen Faucet w/ Pull-Down Spout Be Removed
Updated 12/05/2024 | Published 10/16/2022 >
Question:
From the pictures it is difficult to see how to remove the strainer to clean debris from the spray head grit, pipe shavings from manufacturing the RV, etc.. How does the spray head come apart for cleaning the strainer in the spray head?

I took a look at the Empire Faucets RV Kitchen Faucet w/ Pull-Down Spout # EM34JR and it looks like there is a small screw near the butt on the spout that starts the process of taking the spout apart. I wasn't able to take any steps past that but it also doesn't look like that part is available as a replacement so you'll need to source that piece locally as well.

After removing the set screw, pull off the pushbutton cover. If you turn it to the angled position it helps provide a better grip. Next, there is a white clip that needs removed. Use a small prying tool to pop off the end closest to the set screw and then it slide it out of the t-slot fitting at the other end. After separating the internal components, the strainer assembly can be uncrewed and pressed out of it's housing. Be careful not to loose the rubber washer next to the strainer.
