Question:
I want to take an existing axle on a 4x6 carry in trailer and set the axle under the leaf springs to give it a lift. I understand that the bend camber should be facing up. Can I spin the axle 180 so that the right tire hub will be in the left tire hub without compromising the axles ability to function?

The correct way to raise a trailer by swapping the axle location i.e. under the spring versus over would be with an over under kit like the Dexter Trailer Springs Over-Under Conversion Kit part # K71-385-00 for 2-3/8" diameter axles or part # K71-385-00 for 3" diameter axles. The axle bend would remain in the same orientation. I am not sure why you'd spin the axle but this is not needed nor recommended.
