Question:
I have the heavier one I think it was rated at 11,500. My tongue weight is about 900, my overall trailer weight is close to 10k. To make a long story short, when there was no winds or traffic the pro series towed ok. With any traffic, my sway was unbearable. I felt like I had little to no sway control whatsoever. Whenever traffic would clear, it would return to towing straight. I see on the hitch it has as place for a sway control. What do you recommend? can I use this with a dual sway control? friction type?

Helpful Expert Reply:
Yes, you can add friction sway control to your Reese Pro Round Bar Weight Distribution # RE44FR, and Reese recommends this is exactly what you should do to improve the sway control (just keep in mind friction sway control cannot be used on trailers with surge brakes).
For trailers that weigh between 6,000 lbs and 10,000 lbs you will need to use two friction sway control systems for the best performance, and for the best quality I recommend going with a system from Curt:
- Curt Friction Sway Control for Weight Distribution Systems # 17200
The # 17200 is compatible with your Reese Pro system and will give you a more stable, controlled ride when you are towing and encounter the crosswinds that occur with passing traffic, or just on particularly windy days.
