Question:

I purchased a FURRIONE DV1230-BL entertainment system, which is due to arrive in a few weeks. I am going to install it in the cabin of my boat, and I need to add more options to control it remotely from other parts of the boat the deck and the aft wet area. I ask you: 1 Can I use another remote control the same as the original, to have two controls in use? In that case, what model of remote control do I have to buy? 2 What type of remote control or accessory can I connect through the REMOTE connector on the rear panel? Can it be any wired control that has that type of connection such as those that are submersible to install in boats, of any kind. brand, that have a 3.5mm jack, or the wireless ones that use an adapter with that connector?

The Furrion RV Stereo # DV1230BL comes with an initial remote and then for a second remote you need the Unismart Remote Control # FR34FR as there isn't a direct replacement.

The port at the back is for an IR Remote connection which means if you have an IR remote with the 3.5mm jack it will work with this stereo.

You can also control the stereo if your phone has the NFC (near-field communication) ability, which I understand is on newer phones. Furrion has an app you can download as well that you can use as a remote.

So while you don't have an exact replacement available, it looks like there are still a wide variety of remote options for this stereo for you to utilize.
